Henan Vocational Technical College

　　Henan Vocational Technical College is a full-time college ratified by the State Department of Education, it prepares college students. The college situates in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan province, covers an area of 350 mu, the new campus which is building situates in the university Town besides Longzi Lake, covers an area of 1200 mu. In this college there are 9 departments, including Conservatory of Music, and the college has 13 specialties and over 6000 students.

　　The college sticks to the guiding ideology of “running the college in conformity with legal provisions, governing the college according to rues of virtue, taking human as focus, facing the markets, highlighting distinguishing features”. At the same time we stress our attention on professional choice, we focus our attention on developing students’ characteristics, and try to improve students’ abilities of creation, abilities of practice and abilities of taking up an occupation.

Style of Cultivation:
　　We adopt the style of cultivation which is “emphasizing qualities plus stressing abilities plus getting more certificates” to cultivate talented people who can accustom themselves to the work of the front of production, management and service.

Teachers:
　　The college has teachers of high quality and high standard of education with “two technical terms”, now we have 216 teachers, 80% of them are professors of lectures, and 37% of them are technician who have certificates for it, and 20% of them are high-grade technicians.

Conditions of Running the College:
　　The college has buildings of 60,000 m2, and the college has teaching buildings, restaurants, dormitories, standard sports-ground, and library with more than 200,000 books, which can satisfy teaching and daily life. In the college there are 9 multi-media classrooms, 13 computer classrooms with 900 computers of new type; and 35 labs of all kinds; and also we have special Mechanical and Electrical Training Center, Motor-Repairing Training Center, Cooking Training Center, Haier Electrical Home Appliances Training Center and kinds of training classrooms of Department of Computer Appliance, Department of Gardening, Department of Drawing, Department of Accounting and Department of Architecture, also the college has digital-piano classrooms, dancing rehearsal classrooms and 31 classrooms or playing kinds of instruments.

Home-Abroad Cooperation:
　　The college keeps in a close touch with universities abroad actively, carries out international; cultural and academic exchanges. In 2001, our college cooperated with Sino-Austrian Vienna New City Conservatory to run a joint conservatory.

College-Enterprise Cooperation:
　　The college has cooperated with many famous enterprises, such as Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Ltd, Zhengzhou Automobile Manufacturing Ltd, Huanghe Hotel, Zhongzhou Hotel, Weilai Hotel, etc. in Oct., 2003, our college became the unique training base in Henan for Haier Bloc, and shoulder the responsibility for training workers to work in Henan for Haier Bloc. In 2004, our college is going to set up a “Haier Class” as a specialty in our college to enroll 500 students as their workers.

　　The college attaches great importance to employment of graduates. We have uilt close ties with many famous enterprises in Henan province and other provinces to help students’ obtaining employment through College-Enterprise Cooperation.
